CONNECT2MEDIA, DIGITAL CITY & INTERARROWS TEAM UP TO OFFER 'GAME A DAY'

12th February 2010 Connect2Media announce the 'Game A Day' joint venture at Casual Connect Europe.

The venture is a true strategic alliance between Manchester based Connect2Media, Tokyo based Interarrows and Middlesborough's DigitalCity Business.

Games industry consultancy Interarrows will source games from the Japanese market which has a rich heritage in creating high quality Flash based interactive entertainment. Innovation Connector, DigitalCity Business, will make full use of its strong links with Japan to manage the service as well as creating the initial service. The final element is brought to the table by Connect2Media who will manage the publishing and marketing of the service.

'The Game A Day offering is a genuinely fresh approach to mobile entertainment which many of our biggest clients have already been very positive about. It allows us to deliver fun new games in a totally fresh way and reach the 'Holy Grail' of consumers who would never have previously purchased entertainment content on their mobiles,' commented Connect2Media CEO, Eric Hobson.

The initial Game A Day proposition will offer consumers a low cost, value for money, subscription games service. Content will come from the expanding pool of Flash based mini-games in Japan where the market in these games is prolific with 47% of mobile consumers regularly playing games on their phones. The longer-term ambitions for the service include advertising funded on-line communities centered on games.

Paul Callaghan, Digital City's Director of Business Development, said "We've assembled a strategic 'Dream Team' for Game A Day with access to great content, a team to manage and build the service and routes to the world's key carriers. These all combine to present the consumer with a relevant, compelling reason to buy into the service and play many more games on their mobile phones."

Interarrows MD, Yoji Otokasawa, added "a while ago now we identified an opportunity for Japanese publishers, to bring their Flash games to western markets. This JV represents the culmination of nearly two years work in assessing the market, researching the offer and creating a team to deliver the plan."

Project part financed by the European Union and European Regional Development Fund 2007-13.
